So, I've passed the torch of this blog on to my nephew. Largely because I can't comment on the trials and humour of caring for Dad as well as someone who is actually living with and caring for our Dad.
At the moment Dad is at home with Mum.
She couldn't stand seeing him in a home, crying, doped up and generally unhappy whenever she came down. You see, he still remembered her and got upset when she tried to leave and was forever asking when they were going home.
So she took him home.
For some reason she thought the family wouldn't be happy with that idea.
On the contrary.
We love that he is back home.
Our concern was her having the support she needed to provide constant surveillance, as well as his necessary care.
She was getting worn out keeping him from roaming at night.
So she bought an alarm mat to put by his bed to wake her when he got up to roam.
Then she had to go find him to make sure he wasn't wondering on to the road.
The whole exercise was wearing her out.
So the family rallied and built a fence.
At least now he doesn't roam far.
Now our nephew is living at her house and helping her out.
Hence my asking him to take over the reins of this blog.
So the torch for stories and updates has been passed.
Thanks Daniel.
